The game stared in a steady fashion as both teams weighed each other up.

Scarborough were probing down the left side through Abbey Boyes, and with Jess Corner marshalling the defence expertly, it was very much honours even.

Rangers got the all important first goal and just as Scarborough looked to be getting back in the game, a second goal came through a stunning long-range curling effort into the top corner leaving the excellent goalkeeper Abbey Pollard with no chance.

The Scarborough girls again picked themselves up with Lucy Tighe and Maya Gilroy working tirelessly in the heat, but it remained 2-0 at the break.

Into the second half Scarborough pushed on in earnest, trying to play their passing game to get themselves back in to match, but they were picked off and Rangers added a third.

Still undaunted, Scarborough kept going, only to concede two further goals both from corners as Rangers’ height advantage told.
