Scarborough Sirens fight back to win at Bridlington Town Ladies
Scarborough Sirens fought back for a 2-1 win on the road at derby rivals Bridlington Town on Sunday at the Mounting Systems Stadium.
Both teams were well up for this fixture and it showed.

The Sirens had the best chances in the first 20 minutes but it was Brid who opened the scoring.
The visitors kept putting the pressure on and it wasn’t long until the score was level with a fantastic strike from Paige Smith.
In the second half the Sirens did not take their foot off the pedal as great link-up play from back to front showed just how well the Scarborough team is gelling.
The Sirens had good chances but it was not until around 75 minutes when Chloe Bennett found the back of the net putting them ahead and the visitors held on and dug deep to take the win.
Every single one of the Sirens players played exceptionally well today, they all played for one another and showed some fantastic football from start to finish.
A huge testament to the hard work they’ve been putting in as a team on and off the field.
The player of the match award was shared between Anna Palmer (sponsored by empwr fitness studio) and Danielle Sarup (sponsored by Spud Agronomy).
Anna and Danielle were solid at the back, cleared up, won every aerial ball and duel.
Both players worked tirelessly to stop the Bridlington strikers playing through towards goal, with lots of clearances and amazing long balls on the volley, to put Sirens in a safe position and also providing guidance and support to the rest of the team, to keep momentum going.
