Dan Sheader’s side made it five wins from seven league encounters with their three points.

Ryan Matson opened the scoring, taking advantage of a poor clearance and it was soon 2-0 when Ryan Link fired in with a neat finish, but Valley battled back to half their deficit.

It was 3-1 at the break though, prolific striker Zac Hansen finding the back of the net.

Hansen and Link both registered second goals after the interval as Newlands pulled away, with Jack Hakings also heading in a sixth for the title-chasers.

Danny Appleby hit a brace for Valley, his first the stand-out strike as he smashed in to round-off a neat team move, with their other goal coming from Jake Adams.

“It was another great team performance, it’s hard to single individuals out at the moment,” said delighted Newlands boss Sheader.

Josh Westmoreland was Valley’s man of the match.

The rest of the Sunday League action was postponed.
