Newlands weren't to be denied the victory and the subsequent place in the draw for the next round though, Brad Marshall grabbing their winner late on.

Boss Sheader said: "We were the better side throughout the game.

"Dan Freer, Brad Marshall and Ryan Link were outstanding in the middle of the park, but the full team played well and deserved the win."

Disappointed Angel boss Dan Jones said: "We were missing a lot of players but we weren't good enough and they wanted it more"

Ben Mason stood out for Angel between the sticks.

Cayton Corinthians exit the competition after a 5-4 defeat at home to TS1 Tees Valley Tigers.

Tom MacDonald put Cayton ahead early on, and although the Tigers levelled matters up, Jared Elwick soon restored the home side's advantage.

A defensive error handed the visitors another equaliser and they soon slipped 5-2 down as the Tigers took control.

Cayton weren't done yet however and a Si Coupland double made it 5-4 and gave them hope.

These hopes were soon dashed though as the Tigers managed to hold out, despite the hosts hitting the woodwork on several occasions.

Boss Steve Frederiksen singled out MacDonald, Elwick and Nicko Dunn as his side's star men, but was impressed with his entire side.
