Seamer Sports beat title rivals Bridlington Spa to reclaim top spot
Seamer Sports returned to the top of the Right Car East Riding County League Championship with a 4-1 at home to previously unbeaten title rivals Bridlington Spa.
The hosts started well but a couple of fine saves from the Spa keeper kept the scores level, until a mix-up at the back led to Tom Coates being left free at the back post to head Spa, who started the day in top spot, in front.

Seamer carried on their great start and they gained their reward when a cross from Harry Smith was flicked on by Harry Holden and Jensen Bradbury tucked his finish past the Spa gloveman.
After half-time Seamer’s dominance paid dividends when brilliant work from Zac Hastie earned the villagers a penalty after being brought down inside the box, then fresh off the bench George Birley calmly tucked it away to give the home side the lead.

Seamer’s advantage was doubled halfway through the second half when a Spa corner led to a long through-ball from super-sub Birley, who found Bradbury, who lofted the ball over the outrushing goalkeeper into the net to make it three.
The game was then put to bed with the last ‘kick’ of the game, after Jensen won the ball off the Brid keeper just inside their half which fell kindly for Hastie, who ran in on an empty goal and headed the ball in off the line.
The Seamer man of the match was Harley Adams, who covered almost every blade of grass and won just about every duel in the middle of the park.
Filey Town booked their place in the final four of the East Riding FA Senior Country Cup with a 3-1 win against Holme Rovers, a game switched to Pindar due to the recent bad weather.
A Leigh Franks header, a wonder strike from sub Lalan Flynn and an Ellis Howley effort booked Town’s spot in the semi-finals, where they tackle Premiership leaders Hodgsons on March 11 at Pocklington Town.
Man of the match for Town was James Pinder.
In Division One, Newby lost 4-1 at South Park Rangers, with Josh Hare on target for the visitors.
AFC Eastfield were handed a home walkover in the third round of the Harold Robinson Cup against Withernsea.
