Sophie Overfield hits top form in Scarborough Ladies Under-14s win at Pocklington Town
Scarborough Ladies FC Under-14s stormed to a 10-4 win in their first-ever match at Pocklington Town Pythons in the City of York Girls Football League last weekend.
It was a wet and wild Saturday morning but it was the Boro girls who swept away the hosts’ challenge at The Balk.

Boro blew their opponents away in the first five minutes as they raced into a 4-0 lead.
There were two goals each from Sophie Overfield and Mia Morris, with Chloe McArthur playing a part in all the goals in devastating form on the wing.

But the visitors didn’t have it all their own way as Pocklington hit back with a goal.
Overfield completed her hat-trick to restore the four-goal cushion and McArthur got in on the goals by adding a brace herself, but again Pocklington didn’t lay down as they again hit back twice through their in-form striker who terrorised the Boro defenders the whole match to make the half-time score 7-3.
In the second half the weather was quickly deteriorating, but that didn’t stop both sets of players from trying to play a great game of football and the goals kept pouring in.
Mia Morris scored a fine goal to complete her hat-trick, Pocklington then hit back with another goal.
Matilda Jordan and Isla Williams added to the scoring for Boro to take the score to 10-4 to ensure the win.
Overfield was awarded the girl of the game honour for a complete all-round performance.
