STEVE KITTRICK: Front three are really performing

It’s great to know that we can go into any game and out-score our opponents with the forward options we have.

The front three have really grown as an attacking unit and James Cadman is getting forward and supporting them too, which is great to see.

We’ve tried Michael Coulson in behind James Walshaw and he’s enjoying that role, and Max Wright continues to impress.

I was disappointed with the goal that we conceded, but you’d take a 5-1 win any day of the week and it was a huge win for us.

Every single game we have now is massive and we need to maintain our form heading into tonight’s re-arranged game at Tadcaster, which is followed by a trip to Goole on Saturday and then a reverse fixture at Radcliffe on Tuesday night.

It’s key during these busy periods to shuffle the pack and keep the players as fresh as possible.

I was disappointed that Monday’s game was called off.

With it being a Bank Holiday, we’d have hopefully seen a bumper crowd in at the i2i Stadium.

Common sense has prevailed and we’re travelling to fulfil the game tonight.

Nobody wants to play four games in a week, so it’s important to get these fixtures in.

We go into a game against a lot of familiar faces at Taddy.

They have a lot of good players in their squad, Pete Davidson in particular is a key player for them.

We know it’ll be a tough ask, especially given the fact they beat Bamber Bridge 5-0, and we know how tough a side to beat they are.

After that game we travel to struggling Goole.

That is a potential banana-skin for us so we need to be at it, focused and ready to put in a good performance.

How many times have we all seen a team slip up against a side struggling after a complacent performance and getting their fingers burnt as a result?

We’ll need to be right at it in all three games.

Like I’ve said before, we have eight huge games coming up and we need to keep winning to maintain the pressure on the sides around us who are also chasing promotion.
