Cartman impressed in his limited appearances for Boro before the NPL action was curtailed due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions and insists he’s not looking to move on when action does get back underway.

Speaking on the SN Sport Extra Time Podcast, Cartman said: “Nobody knows what’s happening with this season or what will happen going forward, but I have no reason to leave Scarborough Athletic.

“When the fans have been in they’ve made me feel welcome, everyone around the club has done since I joined.

“I’ve got no reason to move on so I will be staying put - unless Darren (Kelly) wants to get rid of me.”

While Cartman sees his longer term future with Boro, he did admit he’d be open to going out on loan in the short term to get some game time in when the NPL season is eventually declared null and void.

“If someone comes in for me and Darren thinks it’s the right move then I’d go out and play some football,” he added.

“Anyone who’d say they don’t want to play football is in the wrong profession - I think we’d all say we’d want to play.”

Cartman was also quick to sing the praises of boss Kelly.

“Daz has made me feel loved again, as strikers need to be,” added Cartman.

“Over the off-season I think he spoke to me twice, he never pressured me and just sold the club to me, whereas others never left me alone.

“He’s been superb, everything tactically and the changes that he’s made within games, and he’s been brilliant with me psychologically as people know I have had my issues over the past six months.”
