West Pier boss Will eyes unbeaten season
West Pier player-boss Will Jenkinson wants his newly-crowned Newitts.com Beckett League Division One champions to complete an unbeaten season and add more silverware to the club’s cabinet in their 50th anniversary season.
Pier headed into Saturday’s game at Rosedale knowing that a point would seal the league title, and they delivered in style with a magnificent 7-1 victory.

Jenkinson said: “It’s a great achievement by the lads to win the league with a few games to go.
"We haven’t lost this season so far and it would be great to go undefeated on our 50th anniversary.
"We did the same feat 10 years ago and the quadruple on our 40th anniversary, so it would be great to do it again but there are a few games left yet and teams aren’t going to give us it.
"It’s been a great season so far and doing back-to-back titles – winning Division Two last season – but we also have some big games coming up!”
Pier started the match at Rosedale brightly, with some excellent work down the left from Dec Richardson and John Grayston, while man of the match Jake Watson was bombing forward from centre-back all game. His energy and attacking intent were rewarded with two well-taken goals.
Richardson continued his fine form by getting on the scoresheet once again.
Off the bench, Daniel Keenaghan came into centre midfield and made a huge impact, grabbing two goals — including an outrageous 30-yard strike that looped over the Rosedale keeper.
Grayston was then played through from the halfway line, showed great pace and composure, and finished brilliantly
To cap it all off, captain Sam Garnett added the finishing touch with a superb 25-yard free-kick, off the post and in, leaving the keeper with absolutely no chance 7-1 the final score.
In midfield, Tyler Richardson put in a classy performance, keeping the ball moving and controlling the game throughout.
Rosedale did ensure no clean sheet for Bradley Atkinson as Joe Bedford hit a consolation effort for the Dalesmen.
