Wood and Oates shine as improving Scalby U14s sink Seamer
York Football League rivals FC Seamer Under-14s made the short trip to Scalby Under-14s for another close battle on Sunday.
The players held two minutes silence to mark Remembrance Sunday in muddy and wet conditions at Carr Lane.

The game was goalless at half-time but Scalby struck in the 54th minute following a slick pass from Logan Wood that was clinically despatched by Jayden Wood to break the deadlock
Seamer had chances but were left frustrated by the excellent Charlie Oates in goal with a string of fine stops before Jayden Wood broke clear to add a second for the Otters with another brilliant assist from Logan Wood.

Scalby wrapped up the points in the 65th minutes with a superb team goal capped by a terrific finish from Jude Thorp, assisted by man of the match Logan Wood.
Scalby Coach Paul Stonehouse said: “As the team continue into only their second season together, they continue to grow and develop as a unit.
"A great game of football to watch from both sides, the result went our way this time, with all credit being due to the great bunch of lads we have in the team.”
Scarborough Ladies U18s started their match at home to Fulford with only 10 players, and played the final 25 minutes with nine due to an injury.
All 10 SLFC players deserve huge credit for their efforts considering Fulford had a full 11 and two subs, the visitors winning 6-0 but Boro kept a clean sheet during the time they had only nine on the pitch.
Neve Hutchings was named Girl of the Game for a superb performance in defence.
