Wright hoping to make more memories after exciting start to the season

Tuesday night's FA Cup replay success at Stratford was one of Wright's biggest highlights to date since he took up the game.

And he is expecting more of the same as the current campaign progresses.

"I'll never forget Tuesday night, it was probably the biggest highlight of my career so far," said Wright.

"We deserved the win because we were the better team and when we scored those late goals I think we showed what it all meant to us.

"We'll be looking for more of the same on Saturday, and personally I have something of a point to prove.

"It is a big game for me because I was sent off after 15 or 20 minutes the last time we played them.

"I want to prove that I'm not a bad lad and I also want to show that I can play a bit as well.

"As a team we are predominantly looking at the league because we want promotion.

"We will always give 100% in every competition though, as we've shown in the FA Cup games.

"The FA Trophy is a big competition as well because it is another one where you could land a big draw against one of the top non-league teams, which would be great if we can get through."

Wright feels that he is not as yet fulfilling his potential since arriving at Boro, but he is confident that his best is just around the corner.

He added: "It is nice to be playing football because I've not really had the opportunity to have a run of games in the past.

"I wasn't expecting to start straight away when I came here, but I've got my chance and I want to keep taking it.

"I don't think I've been at my best so far, but that is definitely coming with the more games that I play.

"I'm on a season-long loan, but it is a youth loan, so I can play in reserve team games for Grimsby, they can call me back to play or send me out to other clubs.

"I'm hoping that I'll be staying at Scarborough for the season though because I'm loving it."

The young winger is also delighted to be playing with Michael Coulson, a player that he threw his support behind as a season-ticket holder at Grimsby Town.

"A lot of the lads at Grimsby know Mike, they are always asking how he is doing," he said.

"I have been a season-ticket holder at Grimsby since the age of nine, and with him being a winger, he was one of my favourite players.

"He is great to play alongside, and the 15 goals that he's scored this season just underlines how good he is."
