Yorkshire Coast Blues Under-11s win cup final to complete invincible season
Yorkshire Coast Blues Under-11s have completed an astounding invincible York Football League and cup season.
The Blues finished their unbeaten season with a 7-1 League Cup final win against Scarborough Football Scholarship at Poppleton, near York.

Monty Roberts and Charlie Jenkinson scored two goals apiece, with Ruben Tate, Noah Hare, Hunter Dodson also on the scoresheet for the Blues.
Blues manager Will Jenkinson said: “It really has been a fantastic season as there is some really strong teams in our age group with some brilliant young players in the local area.

"The lads have scored 128 goals this season, Marley Salt scoring 35, Monty Roberts scoring 29 and Charlie Jenkinson scoring 17.
"The rest of the lads have certainly played their part with Ruben Tate, Hunter Dodson and Noah Hare all hitting double figures.
"Defensively we have also been very sound conceding 22 goals this season which without question is brilliant. Dylan Cutts, new addition Harry Vasey – who has been another great signing and Dalton Murphy all playing big parts in that in defence, along with us getting a brilliant new goalkeeper Jacob Hutchinson who has been immense for us this year.
"Frankie Hegarty, Oliver Charlton and Lenny Poppleton also have made great contributions both going forward and defensively throughout the year and all three of them offer great versatility to the team.
“We have had some cracking games along the way with a brilliant game against Scholes Park Raiders at the beginning of the season drawing 4-4, which was the best game I’ve watched in junior football, it was brilliant.
"I’m so proud of all the lads.
"The determination and team spirit they have shown for each other has been so good to see, they have all supported each other all season and have been brilliant teammates to one another.
"This is something they can remember for a long time.
"I would also like to say a big thank-you to Kris Tate for all his help this season, this couldn’t have been possible without his continuous support and football knowledge.”
In the cup final, Yorkshire Coast started brightly, with good play down the right hand side from Hunter Dodson releasing Monty Roberts through on goal who unfortunately missed the target.
SFS then took an early lead around the 10-minute mark and started to play well and should have made it 2-0 not long after rounding the keeper but missing the target.
Roberts made it 1-1 with a fine finish from range then not long after Ruben Tate received a quick free-kick from Harry Vasey, turned and smashed the ball into the top corner from 25 yards to make it 2-1.
Roberts then got his second of the game to make it 3-1 at half-time.
Boss Will Jenkinson added: “We started the second half where we finished the first and not long after we went 4-1 up after great play from Dodson, who ran through three players before finding the bottom corner.
"Noah Hare got in on the act with another thumping drive again in to the top corner to make it 5-1.”
The scoring wasn’t finished there and Charlie Jenkinson was put through by Lenny Poppleton and Jenkinson finished brilliantly with his weaker foot. Jenkinson got his second of the game to round the scoring off for Yorkshire Coast.
