Meanwhile, Scarborough Men’s first team were held in their clash with City of York 6ths.

With the Ladies and Mens’ 2nds matches postponed, attention turned to the Men’s 1st as they looked to put further distance between themselves and the sides below them.

There was little to separate the sides during the match. The goals came at the midway point of the first half, midfielder Harry Renwick gave Scarborough the advantage as he deflected in a delightful cross at the left-hand post.

The hosts levelled just before half-time through a well worked short corner.

York had the better of the opportunities during the second half as Tim Allison made several key saves to keep the scores level.

Scarborough held their ground with superb defensive work and looked to hit them on the counter-attack, but Aaron Dyson, Tom Leech and Samuel Echevarría were unable to convert the opportunities.

Man of the match was Marco Masucci for a fine display.

The Men’s 1sts are not in action this weekend, but the Men’s 2nds travel to face Bradford 5ths.

The Ladies face a double-header with matches away to Bradford 2nds and at home to league leaders Selby 2nds.
