A statement from the club said: “In the interest of the health and safety of our members and the general public, and in line with guidelines from both Bowls England and the Government, Bridlington Alexandra Bowls Club will become a “members only“ club for the 2020 season.

“We will not therefore be able to open to the general public for playing or for refreshments.

“We are, however, able to welcome new club members, experienced bowls players or not.

“For those not already playing but interested in taking up the sport and joining the club, we are offering a trial session with instruction.

“In this trial session we will supply all equipment including bowls and shoes.

“The charge for this is only £5 which will then be taken off the membership fee should the individual decide to join us.

“After the enforced and understandable lockdown that we have all faced, it is a great relief that we can again get out and enjoy the fresh air and safe distancing social side of the game and its many health benefits.”

If anyone is interested in potentially becoming a member or would like to take the taster session, please call the club captain on 01262 678965 or 07989 693356 for more details.
