"I've learnt from last year’s two fights. I rushed in throwing punches but I’m now settling down and putting some punishing power behind the shots.

"We're looking for a destructive performance spectators will find exciting with me hopefully getting the win with well-placed shots that prevent the fight going the distance.”

Stanley is keen to share the benefits of boxing, he added: “I've been working a lot with young people in Bridlington.

“Boxing is about more than competing. It's a beautiful sport and I've seen how boxing can change lives and provide a vision and a goal.

"I plan on working with the local schools and trying to give more people access to boxing opportunities.

"There’s plenty of potential in Brid with a lot of young people needing a positive vision.

"I’d love to turn Team Stanley into a charity to help provide sports facilities for younger people in deprived areas. I want to give back as much as possible as the support I've got amazing support in Bridlington.

"It means everything. I couldn't accomplish anything without my supporters.”

Like all elite athletes Stanley needs more sponsors.

He said: “Professional boxing is an expensive game with little rewards at this stage. I'm a prospect with potential. I want to become a contender.

"I’m working multiple jobs and doing personal training to fund my boxing. There’s no money in it at this level. It’s vital that I sell as many tickets as possible.

"I’m deeply grateful to A&B Healthcare, Flexispace, Rooftech and Brandon Sewell Training Systems for their support. It’s fantastic having these guys on board.”

"This is about more than just one man in a sport. It’s a movement. I want boxing to bring people together and make a positive difference. My ambition is to bring great things and big nights back to our wonderful little town.’

The Brid boxer is confident about his abilities, saying: “I want to achieve everything there is to achieve and get world titles.

"I’d like to box at a major event in a gruelling 12-round war in which both the opponent and I would put everything on the line knowing just how dangerous this could be.

"I’m taking each fight as it comes keeping busy while climbing the super middleweight division rankings with hopefully three bouts in total by Christmas.”

Stanley is one of ten prospects fighting at John Charles Sports Centre in Leeds on Saturday 13th July.
