Hackness and Scarborough Men's teams sparkle in Driffield League
It was another rain-affected week of fixtures for the Hackness and Scarborough teams in the Driffield and District Tennis League.
The weather was kinder for the Men’s teams although there were some late changes to the A team which meant players from the B team having to play up.

The A team were at Bridlington for their Division One clash and came home with a much-needed 6-3 victory.
Roger Amstell with Pat Robinson took all through rubbers quite comfortably, Tom Hunt and Louis Fell took two rubbers leaving Bryan Edwards with Voyin Maric with the one.
The Men’s B team were at home against Beeford A in Division Three and they too had a good 6-3 win on the grass at Hackness.
The pick of the home team were Simon Rigg and Mark Draper who won all three of their rubbers followed by Paul Banyard with James Draper taking two. Joe Bolland and Jonathan Bramley added the third.
The C team had to travel to Beeford to play their B team in Division Four, in a well-contested match the visitors lost 6-3.
Mark White with Nathan Whiting had a good night taking two rubbers. Dave Mitchell with Dave Flinton added the third winning a tie break.
Peter Lee and Paul Davidson were unfortunate to lose a tie-break.
The D team, also at home, to Kilham in Division Seven, had another excellent win by 8 rubbers to 1.
Nick Sharples in his first game this season partnered the ever-improving Cameron Smith took all three rubbers as did father and son Steve and Tom Brindle.
They were ably supported by Toby Bramley and Matt Kaiser taking two.
Both the Mixed A and B team matches have had to be postponed for later in the season.
However the new Mixed C team did manage to play at Hackness on the hard courts, losing 6-3 against Pocklington E in a tough match against unbeaten opposition in Division Five.
All the Hackness and Scarborough pairs took a rubber but Steve Jepson and partner Jane Thomson were unlucky in two tie-breaks which would have swung the match. Paul Davidson played with Abi Coates and Tom Hunt with Louise Attley made up the team.
In the ladies section the A team had a bye but the B team travelled to Filey for their derby Division Three match on the all-weather courts.
They came away with a 9-0 victory, Vicky Calow partnered Jacky Johnstone, Jean Blenkiron partnered Jen Fell and Anne Schmuck was with Hannah Longman.
