Isaac Harrison sparkles for Whitby Jets Under-16s at Scarborough Seahawks
The Whitby Jets Under-16s travelled to Scarborough Seahawks’ Pindar Leisure Centre base for week one of the North Yorkshire Regional Basketball League (NYRBL).
Both clubs had a mix of experience and younger players in their rosters.
Coach Gary Davies, a veteran of basketball in Whitby and the wider area led the Jets roster, passing on his knowledge and experience when needed.
Both teams gave their all in a really enjoyable game.
The Jets’ game-management, consistency in the transitions and scoring eventually come to the fore and proved to be the difference in the match.
Isaac Harrison scored 24 points, in his best game for the Jrts Under-16s to date, and he was also awarded the Clara’s MVP for an outstanding performance.
Harry Morley had an amazing 16 rebounds and was also strong in the paint with his scoring.
Most steals in the game went to Archie Pickett with nine, he was also very strong in defence.
A very satisfying display on the court all round, allowing some of Jets’ youngers players to get some valuable court time was pleasing.
The games don’t go ahead without officials, so it always important to recognise the officials and thank them for giving up their time to support basketball in our area.
Week 2 sees the Jets at home in their Hanger at Whitby Leisure Centre against a very strong York Eagles on Saturday November 22.
All are welcome to come along and support and see what basketball is all about.
Jets are always looking for new players to add to the U12s and U16s roster.
