Paul wins first Summer Merit at Bridlington Bay Bowling Club
The first Summer Merit at Bridlington Bay Bowling Club, sponsored by Naturally Compliant Environmental consulting solutions, was played in wonderful, sunny weather.
The event attracted a large attendance of 53 players from Bridlington, Scarborough, Whitby and across Yorkshire.
A spokesperson at the club said: “After many close battles, much tea and wonderful food presented by the ladies in the kitchen, four players progressed to the semi final.
“Geoff Price and Andy Webb competed in the first semi in a tight game with Geoff coming out the winner at 21-18.
“Alan Landers and Paul Morgan took part in the second semi. This was also a tight game, with Paul winning 21-16.
“In the final the two players faced a very fast green as the continuous sun dried out the surface. In the end, Paul won through 21-17.
“Thank you to all who attended and the Brid Bay members who worked all day to make the event enjoyable.”
