Scarborough AC’s Rhona Marshall shines at Brass Monkey Half Marathon

The race start starts at the Knavesmire, with a flat and fast route through some of York’s most picturesque villages. It got its name from a comment by one of the first runners in the 1983 inaugural race, about the very cold weather on the day which started with only 23 participants!

Rhona Marshall was first home for the club when finishing 26th Female overall of 588 and 4th Over-40 in 83.42.

Aaron Padgham led the club’s seven male runners with 461st Male overall of 1070 in 88.55.

Ten SAC members competed in the annual Ferriby 10-Mile Road Race, which consists of a undulating, single-lap course through East Yorkshire villages, with a challenging climb near the end.

Jack Hopper was first home for the club when finishing 75th overall of 879 and 66th male in 75.01.

Sarah Noble led the club’s seven Female runners with 94th Female overall of 394 in 82.36.

Two SAC members competed in the Stockport Daffodil 10K Road Race, at which both had competed in previous years, and this year had 1,826 finishers.

Kevin Hutchinson finished 46th Over-60 of an amazing 61 in this age group in 57.21.

Lynn Watson finished 9th Over-65 of an equally notable total of 13 in 69.44.

Seventeen club members took part in the latest Woodlands Scarborough parkrun.

Anna Giddings led all the club members after finishing 7th overall of 152 and 1st Female overall of 65.

Matthew Heaton headed the club’s males in 8th overall and 7th Male overall of 82 with a Personal Best (PB) time.

Eleven club members took part in the North Yorkshire Water Park parkrun.

Christian Brown led all the club members after finishing 11th overall of 114, 9th Male overall of 60 and 3rd Over-50.

Louise Tomlinson headed the club’s Females with 11th Female overall of 45 and 2nd Over-50.
