Scarborough Squash Academy marathon raises funds for Veterans Foundation
Scarborough Squash Academy players gave their all to raise funds for the Veterans Foundation in a 12-hour squash marathon at their Silver Royd base.
The day got off to a 6am start with some incredible games, lots of fun, lots of prizes to give away, and lots of money collected for charity.

The 12-hour marathon started with a few games of first to 115. Jim Mowat beat Maciej Gruca 115-108 after one and a half hours, the second game on court saw David Sample defeat Jessica Mowat 115-97.
Meanwhile on the other courts the early bird players played matches, three quarters, and fives, keeping the courts flowing throughout the morning.
The courts and spectator area filled up dramatically from around 9am, and they remained full for the remainder of the day.
There were some exceptionally tired bodies by the end of the day, but everyone had a smile on their faces after a very satisfying, but exhausting day.
The big takeaway from the day was seeing so many generations of players on the courts at the same time.
Many players from Thornton-le-Dale Squash Club and Whitby Squash Club - RUFC also gave their support to the event.
The main objective of the day was to raise funds for the Veterans' Foundation, the total, donated in cash on the day as well as online donations, was estimated to be between £3,000 and £3,500.
