Whitby Jets basketball stars take in action at Newcastle Eagles match
Whitby Jets Basketball Club recently visited the Vertu Motors Arena, home of Super League Basketball team the Newcastle Eagles.
The visit is part of the Whitby Jets commitment to ensuring their under-18 basketball players get to experience real live games as part of their basketball development and also to continue their strong links with Newcastle Eagles.

The Eagles game versus Surrey 89ers provided real entertainment in a high-scoring game for the Eagles roster who romped home with a 99-72 victory.
Lots of three-pointers and strong offence and defence in the paint helped the Eagles throughout the game.
Whilst at the game the players witnessed Eagles history as Ray’Sean Taylor officially took the club record for most points in a game with 51, surpassing Charles Smith at 49 from February 2013.
The Jets family also got on the court for a picture with the Eagles roster which was arranged by club legend, Coach Gary Davies.
The good news kept coming as Harrison Lyth won the “Chuck a Duck” competition.
Plenty of autographs for all the players followed, as a tradition in basketball is that the players give meaningful access to all the supporters.
The club had a fantastic night in a safe, sporting, family friendly environment with Newcastle Eagles really looking after the players and committee.
The Whitby Jets train on Tuesdays at Whitby Leisure Centre and anyone, under-18s or under-12s, interested in trying basketball should contact the club via email: [email protected] or via their Facebook page Whitby Jets Basketball Club
