Pocklington RUFC end 2025 with home win against Old Crossleyans
Pocklington RUFC got back to winning ways in their last league encounter of 2025, but made hard work of it before overcoming Old Crossleyans 26-21.
Pock dominated the opening exchanges of both halves and punished the visiting scrum throughout, but kept letting Crocs back into contention and ended the game hanging on to their slender lead.

There was only one side in it in the first quarter, Pocklington laid down a scrummage marker, and two unstoppable lineout catch and drives brought tries to returning No 8 Archie Wilcock, both converted by Christian Pollock for 14-0.
Pock had a golden chance to go further ahead in the 25th minute, only to butcher an overlap and be held up over the line.

And Crocs accepted the let-off, twice catching out the home defence for breakaway scores to level at the break 14-14.
The pattern was repeated on the restart, skipper Andy Argo-Bennett drove a lineout overthrow, the backs took over and right-wing Freddy Peel flew in, Pollock converting.
Pock came close on either side, before Crocs went to the other end and their scrum-half sliced through to made it 21-21.
Pocklington rescued the result as fly-half Pollock diving over for the fourth home try.
However, Pocklington failed to close out the game, ending defending desperately as Crox threw everything into a last-gasp rally that left the home side relieved to hear the final whistle.
