Victory over Stamford Bridge keeps them in 10th spot but puts further distance between themselves and the two sides below them.

It was a high-scoring contest at North marine Road, with the visitors setting 231-8. Dominic Rhodes (51) and Donovan Sinclair (44) built the total, despite 3-29 from captain Ben Elvidge.

The skipper was then at the crease for the business end of the run chase, finishing unbeaten on 61.

Earlier in the reply, Darren Harland (46) and James Pick (76) shared a stand of 86 to put Scarborough on their way.

Driffield Town’s Ali Asad hit his seventh half-century of the season as they won their third successive game.

Avenging their defeat to Sheriff Hutton Bridge earlier in the season, Town won at Moor Farm by six wickets.

The hosts were all out in the final over of their innings, having made 201. Captain Adam Fisher led by example, hitting 63, and Robert Pinder chipped in with 43.

Alec Drury added to his season’s tally with 4-66 and Jamie Hopper took a valuable 3-33.

Driffield opener George Drury made 43, to lay the platform for Asad to play the role of match-winner.

He finished unbeaten on 65, as Driffield reached Bridge’s target with six balls to spare. An unbeaten 54 partnership with Tom Norman (26 not out) puts Driffield up to sixth in the table.
