How you can win weekend tickets to north east music festival - with new headliners just announced
Music fans in the Whitby area are being offered the chance to win a pair of tickets to the Discovery Festival 2026.
The full line-up for Discovery Festival Darlington, at Mowden Park, has been announced – chart-topping drum and bass duo Sigma join the jam-packed line-up along with rising British pop girl group XO.
They both join headliners Five on Sunday August 9, along with The Wanted 2.0 and Bjorn Again.
And we have teamed up with the festival organisers to offer a pair of weekend tickets.
While Saturday’s ‘80s Calling, on Saturday August 8, is shaping up to be a full-throttle neon spectacular, with Level 42, Marc Almond and Heaven 17 leading the charge.
British drum and bass duo Sigma have been setting dancefloors alight for almost two decades, earning a reputation as one of the UK’s most successful
electronic acts.
The chart-topping duo are behind some of the decade’s biggest dance hits, including UK No. 1 singles Nobody to Love and Changing, alongside fan
favourites Higher and Glitterball.
Their addition brings a burst of homegrown energy to the line-up, with fans set for an explosive set and euphoric, hands-in-the-air anthems at Mowden Park.
Sigma said: “There’s nothing like seeing a crowd get totally lost in the music and feeling that buzz together.
"We love supporting live music and giving fans moments they’ll never forget.”
Joining Sigma in the final line-up is one of the UK’s hottest emerging acts XO.
The five-piece girl group from London are set to bring a burst of fresh pop energy to Discovery Festival this summer.
XO have been turning heads with their polished performances and infectious tracks including Lovesick and Real Friends.
As one of Britain’s most exciting rising pop acts, their addition brings a youthful new edge to the festival.
The new artists replace Ella Henderson who has had to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances.
Following a hugely successful 2025 festival, that saw more than 15,000 people attend, Discovery Festival 2026 promises two days of unforgettable music and a party atmosphere from Saturday August 8 to Sunday August 9.
Liz Hobbs MBE, CEO of Discovery Festival Ltd said: “Bringing together world-class artists alongside outstanding homegrown talent is something we’re incredibly proud of, and Sigma and XO are fantastic additions to an already spectacular weekend of live music.
“There’s a real excitement building as we head into festival season, and we can’t wait to welcome music fans back to Mowden Park for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.”
