Hunmanby whisky distillery reopens for tours - how to book

The team at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, home to Filey Bay single malt whisky, have adapted their tours and the distillery layout to allow for social distancing and safety measures so they can reopen from July 13.

Co-founder and managing director David Thompson said: "We are delighted to be able to share the distillery with visitors once more.

“Although we continued distilling during lockdown, it's not the same without people!

"We have introduced lots of special measures to keep people safe, including mandatory booking, limiting the number of people per tour, collecting visitors from their cars and a one-way system that allows us to give a full tour, including tasting samples or ‘Drivers' Drams' at the end.

"We have decided not to reopen the Pot Still Coffee Shop at the moment but we will review the situation once we are confident that we can operate with full safety measures to safeguard our customers and our team."

The distillery was awarded a Good to Go certificate that confirms it has followed Government and industry Covid-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social and physical distancing.

Tours are now limited to six people and run at 11am and 1pm daily. The tour cost remains unchanged at £12.50 per person but tickets must be booked online at least 12 hours in advance.
