The four-piece, fronted by vocalist Dan Smith, alongside Kyle Simmons on keys, bass and guitarist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris ‘Woody’ Wood, previously played the iconic venue in 2018 and enjoyed a warm welcome to the seaside on a balmy Saturday night.
Tracks came from the band’s 16-year career, opening with Things We Lost In The Fire and Shut Off the Lights before Smith addressed the crowd saying: “Scarbados! How are you doing tonight? Thank you so much for coming back!”
Smith and pals moved on to deliver a 90-minute set with other hits including Good Grief, Flaws and their huge mash-up cover Of The Night, and it wouldn’t be an epic Bastille show without the frontman jumping down from the stage to join the crowd during Happier before belting out the era-defining smash hit Pompeii to close the show.
Joining Bastille as special guest was singer-songwriter Nectar Woode – a homecoming show for the British-Ghanian soul star.
TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre 2026 – which sees a record 28 headline shows from some of music’s biggest and best-known stars – continues this weekend with headlining shows from Alex James’ Britpop Classical and CMAT.
