The multi-platinum-selling group lit up TK Maxx presents Live at Scarborough Open Air Theatre with a hit-packed set featuring Real Gone Kid, Dignity, Wages Day, City of Love and Fergus Sings the Blues.
Fans were also treated to standout tracks from The Great Western Road — the band's most successful studio album in more than three decades — with the title track, Late '88 and People Come First showcasing a band that continues to evolve while remaining firmly at the top of its game.
Lightning Seeds provided the perfect start to the evening, rolling out a string of beloved indie favourites including Pure, Sense and You Showed Me, before igniting World Cup fever with their 1996 hit Three Lions.
As oversized inflatable footballs were launched into the crowd, thousands of fans sang every word back to the band.
Frontman Ian Broudie's timely lyric change to "60 years of hurt, they'll never stop us dreaming" struck a chord with the Scarborough audience ahead of England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway.
The Liverpudlian indie icons rounded off their set with fan favourites Lucky You and The Life of Riley.
