Scarborough band The Feens are releasing a brand new single this week.

The four-piece, who secured a live performance on Soccer AM and sold out two hometown gigs earlier this year, are back with their new song Sunset.

The single will be available from Friday and the band have filmed a special video to accompany the track which captures some of Scarborough’s most well-known spots, including the Holbeck Clock Tower, Cleveland Way and South Bay beach.

The pandemic has stalled what was planned to be a busy year for the group but they say they have had their heads down writing new music which they recorded in July.

Since forming in 2016, the group has been going from strength to strength.

Their debut single What Are You Dreaming? gained them champions and fans alike including notable support and plays from BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart, as well as huge local support from BBC Radio York’s Jericho Keys.

The track clocked up more national radio success via John Kennedy and ex-Maccabee Felix White on Radio X and the track was added to the station’s evening playlist.

The Feens’ music has also been featured on Made in Chelsea and Sky Sports.

Live, they supported Inhaler in Leeds in July last year and had their first major festival appearance at Y Not? Festival in Derbyshire.

In February they took to the road for their first UK tour.

The eight dates included shows in Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Northampton, Swansea, Hull and Scarborough.

The band originally announced one tour date for Scarborough at the Tipi Venue at Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

But when the gig sold out in 12 hours, the band added a second date there.

The Feens are urging fans to pre-order their new single on iTunes in the hope of cementing a place in iTunes’ own download charts.
