The free family-friendly festival has grown to become one of the most popular annual events on the East Yorkshire coast.
Organised by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Visit East Yorkshire events team, some of the world’s largest inflatable kites took to the skies, delighting hundreds of visitors.
From big, beautiful bears to swaying, slithering snakes, dozens of interesting inflatable kites added a splash of colour to the cliff tops at Sewerby.
Year-on-year, internationally-renowned kite experts provide amazing displays for thousands of spectators. Alongside the professional demonstrations, the popular parachuting teddy bear drops returned for 2026.
Visitors also had the opportunity to try out flying loaned kites during supervised sessions, or could buy their own from the kite stalls.
There were a number of trendy street food vendors, tempting dessert stalls, hot and cold drinks and traditional ice cream vans, plus fairground rides, face painting, inflatable obstacle courses, and other family entertainment on offer.
Bridlington Kite Festival also hosted three charity stalls, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Bridlington Sea Cadets, each of which makes an important contribution to the local area.
The event was held in partnership with The Northern Kite Group and has grown into a beloved tradition, bringing together families and kite enthusiasts from all over the UK and abroad to enjoy the spectacular displays and vibrant atmosphere.
