The newest addition to the Scarborough calendar is a monthly artisan market, which launched April 12 in St Helen’s Square, both outside and inside the Market Hall & Vaults.
The new market comprised of nearly 100 stalls featuring antiques, vintage, vinyl, artists and crafts people’s work with opportunities to buy locally-sourced products for both home and garden. Visitors ere treated to an array of hot food on offer, as well as a bakery, comforting hot drinks and a licensed bar.
There was a number of exciting opportunities for visitors to try something new, including throwing pottery, making plants, a willow weaving demonstration and free craft activities for children.
The market will now be held on the second Sunday of every month until September, namely May 12, June 14, July 12, August 9 and September 13.
This is the latest community venture organised by This Is Scarborough, a not-for-profit enterprise established in 2025.
Scarborough Coble Market is funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, and the project is supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire.
