The Secret Spot East Coast Classic Surf Competition is set to take place from September 14 til 15. As part of their 35-year-old birthday celebrations, Secret Spot are stoked to announce that they are bringing back the East Coast Classic Surf Comp this September! Back in the day this comp was a massive weekend for all East Coast Surfers- so after a 11-year absence they are making sure this is a comeback to remember. Product demos (Firewire, Rip Curl, Channel Islands), live music, a surf jumble, food stalls and saunas are all in the mix ensuring the event lives up to its 'Classic' namesake. Taking place over the 14th and 15th (with back-up dates of the 28th and 29th to double chances on the surf front!!) they will be running divisions for Men, Women, Longboards and Kids (U16) with everything taking place over at Cayton Bay. Scarborough Goldwing Light Parade will take place on September 14. The glittering Goldwing Light Parade & Fireworks Display has become a popular tradition for Scarborough, bringing thousands of bike fans from around the UK to the South Bay for a free seafront party every September. Goldwing motorcycles sporting neon lights transport a fleet of riders on a procession around the Marine Drive, illuminating both sides of the shoreline, before the night is closed out with a show-stopping fireworks display. Before the evening's parade by night there will be a static display of the motorcycles, running from 10am to 4pm, on West Pier and Foreshore Road. Amongst the activities taking place during the six-hour display, the Mayor of Scarborough will judge his favourite trike and draw a raffle. Yorkshire Air Ambulance will run a gift shop and tombola. Mustering for the parade begins from 6.30pm, giving the bikes ample time to arrange in parade formation. The parade starts at 8.00pm, leading the riders south along the Foreshore to the roundabout. From there the procession turns back along Foreshore Road and around Marine Drive, looping at Peasholm and returning to South Bay promenade. Photo: Discover Yorkshire Coast
