East Riding community groups urged to apply for free Android tablets

Community Vision is inviting voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations across the East Riding to apply for a free Android tablet, thanks to a generous donation from Quickline.

The tablets are being made available to help organisations support digital inclusion within their communities.

A tablet could be used to:

• Help people get online and access digital services

• Support access to health and other essential online services

• Provide digital support through community sessions or drop-ins

• Help people stay connected and reduce digital isolation

A spokesperson said: “We are particularly keen to hear from organisations supporting people who experience barriers to getting online or who would like to develop the digital support they provide locally.

“As part of the application, organisations can also tell us if they would be interested in finding out more about the opportunity to apply for up to £600 to become a Digital Inclusion Hub through the Digital Inclusion 4 All project.

“Tablets are subject to availability and geographical eligibility requirements. Applications will be checked against the relevant Quickline area of benefit, and submitting an application does not guarantee that a tablet will be awarded.”
