The Mayfield Care Home in Whitby named as 'one of best in Yorkshire and Humber'
The Mayfield Care Home in Whitby has been named one of the best in the region by the UK’s leading care home review website.
The website, carehome.co.uk, announces the winners of the Care Home Awards annually, which recognises the top-rated homes - and Care UK’s The Mayfield has been listed in the top 20 in Yorkshire and The Humber.
The prestigious awards honour homes that have received outstanding reviews in the past year from those who matter most: residents, service users and their families and friends.
One review said: “Fabulous caring staff! Clean, tidy, excellent standard of maintenance.
"Friendly, supportive, welcoming with a warm and loving attitude that it is 'home' and not an institution!”
Another review said: “My aunt moved into The Mayfield two months ago and the settling in period has gone very smoothly thanks to the kindness of the staff.
"Her room is always clean and fresh and is very well equipped and laid out with plenty of shelf space for photos and ornaments from home.
"I find the staff to be very attentive and friendly.
“The food is especially good and hot drinks and snacks are readily available.
"I feel that the staff understand the importance of treating their residents with dignity and courtesy, helping them to maintain a level of independence which is very important."
The home on High Stakesby Road provides daily group and one-to-one activities, as well as a monthly friendship cafe.
