Last week we shared memories of the 1970s, and this week we’ve flashed forward a decade. In the 80s Marvels, Waterscene, Kinderland and World of Holograms arrived in town. Some proved more elusive than others, and we struggled to find pictures - if you have any photos you’d like to add to our archive, contact us at [email protected].
5. Navena
You remember when giant capsized ship Navena was towed into Scarborough.
6. The Madhouse
You remember this attraction which has all but faded from existence, no photos seem to exist of it. It was situated next to The Princess Cafe in part of what is now the Penny Arcade. Photo: Google
7. Cup success
You remember when Scarborough FC saw victory over Chelsea with a 32 win in the League Cup after achieving a 11 draw during the first leg at Stamford Bridge.
8. Summer season
In the 80s acts didnt come for an evening they came for the summer! Like Keith and Orville at the Opera House in 1982.
