Scarborough Castle reopening - everything you need to know
Scarborough Castle is open again! Here is everything you need to know if you want to visit.
From today, the grounds of Scarborough Castle are open. The castle and headland will be open as usual, with the exception of the Master Gunner interior space.
Take away food and drinks will be available but the shop and indoor exhibition will be closed. Toilets are open as usual.
Visits must be booked in advance and this can be done online at the English Heritage Scarborough Castle website.
Some safety measures have been put in place so trips to the castle may now be slightly different to previous visits.
Friendly staff and volunteers will still be on hand to give a warm - if socially distanced - welcome.
Face coverings must be worn in all indoor areas. Visitors should bring face coverings with them.
Kate Mavor, English Heritage’s Chief Executive, said: "We can’t wait to open up our sites again and to welcome people back. It’s been a long, long winter and our sites – with their wide open spaces, beautiful buildings, fun events and fascinating stories – will be the tonic we all need."
