Bridlington CC see off YPLN Premier Division 2 relegation rivals Patrington
An excellent all-round team performance helped Bridlington CC 1sts earn a crucial 52-run victory at home to YPLN Premier Division 2 relegation rivals Patrington on Saturday.
Brid captain Casey Rudd won the toss and chose to bat first at Dukes Park, but he and fellow opener Sam Wragg departed after making a start, Rudd dismissed for 14 and Wragg for 21 from 19 balls as the hosts were rocking at 36-2.

Calum Hatton and Tom Norman then dug deep for a third-wicket partnership of 69, broken by the dismissal of the latter for 40 to make it 105-3, Will Watts soon falling for 2 to leave Brid 108-4.
Hatton then linked up with Harvey Dixon for a crucial fifth-wicket stand of 87 before the former was caught, for 63 in 67 balls including four fours and two sixes, by Glenn Ratcliffe off the bowling of Grant Van Es.

But Brid worked hard again as Will Norman's powerful 45no in 33 balls helped put on 65 for the sixth wicket with Dixon, who was last man out after a marvellous 90 from 81 deliveries, including 10 fours and three sixes, the hosts finishing up on 287-6 in 50 overs.
Patrington openers Connor McKinley (51) and Bob Eldon-Smith (48) gave the visitors a strong start, but then top bowling from Hatton (3-46 in 11.2 overs), Tom Norman (3-47 in eight overs) and Rudd (2-46 in 13 overs) saw them dismissed for 235 in 46.2 overs.
