Pier Road, Whitby to close to traffic for next nine evenings
Pier Road in Whitby is to close to traffic for nine evening starting from tonight (Tuesday, November 3).
North Yorkshire Council is carrying out footpath build-out work on the narrow section of Pier Road adjacent to the Magpie Café to accommodate the large number of pedestrians.
As a result, Pier Road in Whitby will be closed from 7pm until midnight for the next nine nights.
During these hours, there will be no access for vehicles, with the exception of emergency services.
Pedestrian access will be maintained via the eastern footpath.
Outside these hours, the road will be open to traffic.
