Chaplins sparkle in Pocklington CC 2nds’ home win against Ledsham
John Chaplin’s batting heroics, aided by son Lewis, helped Pocklington CC 2nds to a five-wicket home win against Ledsham.
After losing the toss, the visitors made the most of a superb batting track to post 244-8, Ted Donkin taking 5-69.

This however proved to be slightly under par though as Pock batted superbly in their reply to win the game with two overs to spare by five wickets.
John Chaplin (92no) top-scored with a brilliant unbeaten knock, supported earlier by Dan Croft (38) and then his son Lewis Chaplin (30no) who helped see the team over the line.
Pocklington 1sts travelled to Acomb on Saturday and set a good first innings score when finishing on 292-9, Dan Littlewood (101) hitting a century at his former club, backed up by Dave Chaplin’s 82.
Pock struggled in reply though as Acomb’s opening pair made the most of an early dropped chance to post 275 for the opening wicket and eventually win the game by nine wickets.
Pocklington 3rds hosted Hensall 2nds and bowled their visitors out for 125 after losing the toss and being asked to field, Robin Miller (5-23) stealing the headlines with a five wicket haul.
Only two wickets were lost in reply as the 3rds reached their target with ease thanks to Wes Smith (60) and Joe Wilson (53).
