Scarborough man sent to prison following spate of shop thefts
A Scarborough man has been jailed for 12 weeks following a spate of shop thefts in the town.
Catalin Ionut Baran, 24, of Marlborough Street in Scarborough, appeared before Scarborough Magistrates Court o Monday, July 6, where he pleaded guilty to the thefts.
Baran was convicted for stealing washing products and alcohol from Tesco and Tesco Express stores in Scarborough earlier this year.
The court noted that Baran had a flagrant disregard for people and their property.
He was ordered to pay compensation to the value of £236.95 to the stores and was sent to prison for 12 weeks.
