Scarborough man David Fraser Flinton has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

He was restricted from being in possession of an open container of alcohol or consuming alcohol in a public place in a defined area of Scarborough.

A police spokesperson said: “When he appeared before Scarborough Magistrates Court on Monday, (October 12, 2026) Flinton pleaded guilty to five breaches of the order and one offence of trespassing on a railway.

“As Flinton was sentenced, the court noted a flagrant disregard for court orders, adding that there was no real prospect of rehabilitation as there was a wilful refusal to comply with orders.”

“Flinton was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187.00.”
