Coastguard team rescues French bulldog Bruno after cliff fall
Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team was deployed to Sewerby Cliffs on Wednesday, February 11 following reports of a dog that had fallen approximately three metres down the cliff onto a narrow ledge.
The French bulldog, named Bruno, had become stranded after the fall.

Concerned for his safety, its owner contacted HM Coastguard for assistance.
Upon arrival, the team assessed the scene and deployed a rope rescue technician to safely reach the animal.
Bruno was successfully recovered from the ledge and brought back to the top of the cliff without injury.
He was then reunited with his relieved owner at the scene. A Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team spokesperson said: “This marks the team’s first dog rescue of the year.
“We would like to remind everyone that accidents can happen to anyone, and ask that people remain respectful in their comments when incidents like this are shared publicly.
“Pet owners are also encouraged to keep dogs on leads and maintain a safe distance from cliff edges, particularly in unfamiliar or hazardous areas.
“As always if you see a coastal emergency fail 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
