Road closures are still in place at Castlegate and Norton Road.

The council said Church Street would reopen this afternoon as far as the petrol station to allow residents to get to the station, but there would be no access through to Welham Road. County Bridge remains closed.

As water subsides, roads and footpaths are turning icy. Road gritting is underway in the worst affected areas but agencies are advising the public to take extra care when walking or travelling.
