
There has been too much ill-informed comment about the need to manage and refurbish this neglected woodland in recent months.
Jayne Anne Strutt’s letter in the same issue is an example.
While one can appreciate her concerns, the wood could not have been left as it was.
For the sake of both present and future generations a period of thinning and regeneration is required.
The amenity is not being destroyed; it is being revived.
