Letter: Credit to '˜tiny team' who tend to Hunmanby's Bayley Gardens

Last week's piece by Alan Combes about Hunmanby really does credit to the village. However, I hope you don't mind if I point out that the information about Bayley Gardens is incorrect.

Bayley Gardens is not where ‘Hunmanby in Bloom work their magic’. They certainly do that elsewhere in the village - Cross Hill, the railway station, Hungate Court, the primary school, the church and many other small areas of the village. They do a brilliant job.

However, Bayley Gardens is managed by a small team of three who do all the planning, planting, feeding, pruning, watering and weeding. It is owned by Hunmanby Parish Council whose caretakers cut the grass for us and also do any heavy work and some of the weeding.

I’d be most grateful if you could share this with your readers, so that my tiny team of two receive the credit for all the work they do in the gardens for our community!
