Community support boosts Staithes and Runswick RNLI fundraiser to more than £800

Staithes and Runswick RNLI has thanked supporters after a successful fundraising day at the lifeboat station, with community efforts raising more than £800 for the charity.

The day (May 10) featured performances by Harthill Village Voices, whose concerts at the station attracted visitors from across the area.

Supporting the RNLI helps them to continue to keep their crew trained, equipped and ready to save lives at sea.

Thanks to donations from those attending, the choir raised £214 on the day, with a further £187 donated through their JustGiving page in support of the lifeboat station.

In addition to the concert fundraising, visitors also showed strong support for the RNLI shop at the station, where sales exceeded £400 during the event.

A Staithes and Runswick RNLI spokesperson said: “Thank you as well to the crew and members of the community who gave up their time to help on the day, your support is hugely appreciated. “Your support helps us continue to keep our crew trained, equipped and ready to save lives at sea.”
