Friends of Seamer Village 'make a difference' thanks to Proudfoot donation

Representative from Proudfoot’s Making A Difference Locally charity have met with volunteers from the Friends of Seamer Village, to present them with a donation of £250.

The Friends, whose logo was created by pupils of Seamer and Irton School, wanted to improve a border on the entrance to School House Drive, Seamer, by planting perennials from a local garden centre.

During this hot weather the volunteers are out every evening watering the plants giving them the best chance to establish and provide a colourful display for the Seamer community to enjoy for years to come.

This is one of many projects the Friends are involved with throughout the year, along with mowing of the grass and roadside curb weeding etc.

One of the Friends of Seamer Village, Vanessa, said: “We are so grateful for the help from Proudfoot Making A Difference Locally, and the border is looking good!

“The plants will spread as time goes on, which we have allowed for, and we shall use the balance of the donation to dig in soil improver.”

Proudfoot Director, Valerie Aston said: “What a wonderful thing ‘Friends of Seamer Village’ do, selflessly giving their time to improve and take care of Seamer village for the benefit of their locally community.

“We are delighted to be able to support them continue their valuable work for Seamer village.”
