New President for The Rotary Club of Scarborough 2024/25

The Rotary Club of Scarborough inducted new President, Roger Cannon, at its meeting on Monday June 24.

Mr Cannon has been involved in local education for many years and was a former head teacher.

He has been involved with Rotary for several years and was President during the time of the Covid pandemic.

Mr Cannon takes over the office from his predecessor Trevor Bull, Chairman of Scarborough Athletic FC.

A spokesperson for the Rotary Club said: “Roger congratulated Trevor on a very successful year which focused very much on local Charities helping those with mental health challenges.

“Several thousand pounds has been raised and distributed to these charities during Trevor’s year as President of the Club.”

Mr Cannon said he looked forward to his year and hoped that the Club would be able to build on the previous strong foundations laid over 100 years of Rotary in Scarborough.

He pledged to continue to seek to help local people, particularly those battling with life’s challenges.
