Proudfoot donates £1,000 to Scalby Cinema through Making a Difference Locally Charity
Proudfoot Director Valerie Aston visited ‘Scalby Cinema’ on Wednesday January 28 to present a cheque for £1,000 to help them to purchase a new projector.
In its third year, Scalby Cinema have had over 250 residents come to their screenings, many are regulars with their favourite seats. Everyone find it small, friendly, reassuring and safe.
Caroline Pindar, of Newby and Scalby Village Trust, said “ The donation will go toward funding a modern, LED projector for our community cinema.
“The one we currently use has broken down twice and been repaired, but is now unreliable; last June’s screening had a greenish tinge! We hold our breath each month.”
Valerie Aston said: “This is a delightful cinema, open to all within the local community.
“We are pleased to be able to support the purchase of their new projector, which is planned to be installed permanently in the Temprance Hall, where it could be used, not only for the Cinema, but by other groups who will use the room too.
“We look forward to seeing it in use for their February screening”
