Adam and Sarah Sheader are running every day of Advent to raise money for the life-saving charity.

Adam, a volunteer lifeboat crew member for Scarborough Lifeboats, said: "I joined the crew coming up to three years ago now. I’m currently doing trainee helm plan on the inshore lifeboat.

"There has been a long line of Sheaders on the lifeboat and I’ve always wanted to continue the tradition and help people in need.

Sarah and Adam Sheader are running every day during Advent for the RNLI.

"We are doing the run to raise funds for the RNLI, which is obviously very close to our hearts and we know how much Covid-19 has affected fundraising efforts this year."

The RNLI's lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland, and its seasonal lifeguards look after people on busy beaches.

RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824.

Its community safety teams explain the risks and share safety knowledge with anyone going out to sea or to the coast, and its international teams work with like-minded organisations to help tackle drowning in communities at risk all around the world.
