Scarborough pub reopens with new name following £150,000 revamp
The former Spa pub on Victoria Road has reopened with a new name and a new look following a £150,000 revamp.
‘The Cambridge’, as the pub will now be known, will be run by the former landlords of The Cask Inn, Andrea Allison and Mike Sadler.

Heineken owned Star Pubs have invested £150,000 in the property, giving the building a fresh new look inside and out.
Andrea and Mike have been managing The Spa on a temporary agreement for the last year in anticipation of the refurbishment.

The pub rarely opened before they took it on and so they set about reviving it, painting walls and installing a kitchen to enable the pub to serve food.
The pub intends to be a quality family and dog-friendly local offering sports and live entertainment, aided by the installation of a new stage and upgrading of the sports facilities including a new pool table, new darts and additional High-Definition TVs showing Sky so that sport can be viewed from anywhere in the pub.
The dated pub, which consists of a bar, snug and sports area, has been given a smart new warm décor incorporating russet and teal colours and decorative pendant and wall-mounted lighting.
There is now a choice of different height seating including leather banquettes, freestanding leather and fabric covered chairs and velvet covered stools.
Scarborough related bric-a-brac adorns the walls.
Going forwards, Andrea and Mike plans to hold a quiz night on a Tuesday, karaoke and live music at the weekend, and to introduce chill-out blues music sessions on Sunday afternoons.
The menu features good home cooked pub classics such as chilli, curry, ribs and gammon, served in the evenings from Tuesday to Sunday as well as a traditional Sunday lunch roast.
Andrea said: “Mike and I both live nearby and so know what is currently missing on our doorstep.
“We want to recreate the neighbourhood feel that we had at The Cask Inn, offering quality home-cooked food and a wide selection of drinks.
“We’re also keen to support the community through fundraising for local charities and giving opportunities to showcase local talent.
"We can’t wait to welcome customers new and old to this hidden gem and to help create some wonderful memories and fun times.”
